First Wave of RIFF 2011 Awards Hits

As the first weekend of RIFF 2011 passes two awards have already been bestowed upon one guest and one film.

Come to Harm was awarded the title of Best Short Film. The film by Börkur Sigþórsson is the to win the award in that category, which is new to the festival this year. Honorable mention went out to Invisible Borders by Haukur M.

Also announced was Danish filmmaker, and honorable guest, Lone Scherfig recieving the festival’s Award for Exceptional Artistic Vision. Three of her films are shown at this year’s festival; Italian for Beginners, Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself and One Day.
