Dare we say Jennifer Lawrence is here and she is here to stay? After displaying her talents brilliantly in the dramatic Winter’s Bone, and then shining in The Hunger Games‘ spotlight, Lawrence has dipped from genre to genre with much ease and success. Now, once again, we find this rising actress making here way into horror, proving to be more than just a one trick pony. Her upcoming film, House At The End Of The Street, has debuted a new trailer online, in which Lawrence moves to new town that has recently seen a murder. After befriending the creepy kid living next door, she becomes caught up in a mess of horror that is far from over.
Played by Max Thierot, Ryan, (the kid next door), is the sole survivor of a family that was massacred, supposedly by his little sister. Or at least that is what he leads us to believe.
Enchanted by his romantic glow, Lawrence, against the advice of her mother, enters the family’s home, only to find herself trapped there at the mercy of an unidentified assailant.
Check out the new trailer below:
At first glance, the story appears straightforward. Thierot’s character seems suspicious, suggesting that he is the real culprit behind the murder, but more importantly, Lawrence’s stalker. While we’re excited to see Lawrence in any film, we hope House At The End Of The Street has more depth than that, with a few secrets and tricks left to be unveiled.
Following The Hunger Games, the film will be able to capitalize on their star’s newfound spotlight. As mentioned before, Lawrence is the new buzz and people will flock to the theaters to see what she can do. House At The End Of The Street is expected to open September 21, 2012.
