Still Life: Follow The Yellow Brick Road to the First Poster for Oz: The Great and Powerful

We haven’t seen anything from Sam Raimi since 2009 delightfully twisted Drag Me  To Hell (that, rather ironically, washed some of the bad taste from people’s mouths after Spider-Man 3). Now we have a poster for his upcoming Disney fantastic epic, Oz: The Great and Powerful. And it’s a sweeping and beautiful art piece.

The film functions as a prequel to the seminal classic, The Wizard of Oz, following the plights of Oscar (James Franco), a dubious circus magician who gets sucked into the wonderful, or not, world of Oz. You can deduce from his name and the name of the film what the plot revolves around.

Oz: The Great and Powerful stars James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Abigail Spencer. It’s due out on March 8th, 2013.
