Still Life: Newest Total Recall Poster Is Our Least Favorite

You might have your preconceptions about the Total Recall remake/adaptation/reimagination starring Colin Farrell as Ahnuld Doug Quaid. I certainly have mine. Finding the original adaptation by Paul Verhoeven a good film, I actually like the fact that Len Wiseman and screenwriter Kurt Wimmer are changing things up by changing less things (from Philip K. Dick‘s original story) than Verhoeven did. The first trailers certainly looked fantastic, even though the question of substance can only be answered by the final product. And then the viral Rekall posters were an inspired move, which managed to turn mass attention to the film.

Now, as release draws nearer, though, we are treated to this lesson in mediocrity:

An utterly generic set-up. An impactless collage of seemingly random images. A horrid composition job in placing Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel on top of everything. And that tagline is not just tacky; it’s a grammatical abomination.

Compared to all the previous posters, it pales even further.
