Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Tom Hardy Team Up For Anti-Poaching Film
When an acting trio full of handsomeness and talent joins together to make a film, its hard to not take interest. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Tom Hardy are teaming up to produce an untitled animal-trafficking drama set up at Warner Bros.,
The idea for the film, crafted by Tom Hardy, is to present the issue with multiple characters and storylines that show the various impacts of poaching. According to Hardy the idea was “inspired by friends who are former Special Forces operatives and went on to become anti-poacher fighters in South Africa and other nations.”
The goal, say sources, is to make a movie in the vein of Traffic, Steven Soderbergh’s multistory take on the various ramifications of the war on drugs. In this case, the story would look at everything from the ground war on poachers in the African savanna to how animal material ends up in the fashion houses of Paris. At this point, it’s unclear whether DiCaprio, Maguire or Hardy would act in the movie, but given their close friendship in and outside of work, I wouldn’t be surprised if all three appear in the film. The film is still in the very earlier of conception and is just beginning its search for a writer.
