These days it seems that a movie being released isn’t enough to end rumors about it. Case in point, The Dark Knight Rises was surrounded by metric megatons of rumors before release and here’s a new one to add to the mix: Apparently, according to Slashfilm, the word on the street is that the home video release of TDKR will include a director’s cut with 30 minutes of extra footage, adding to the film’s already gargantuan running time. Among the things that’d be elaborated on would be Bane’s origins as well as more Ra’s Al Ghul. Of course, this should be taken with a grain of salt and a healthy dose of skeptical sauce. Nolan isn’t normally one to do director’s cuts, preferring to practically film only what will be included in the final cut, but then again we’ve had confirmation that at least some stuff didn’t make it in.
Hopefully, there’s truth to this as many would love to see what ended up on the cutting room floor. What’s your take?
