Still Life: New ‘Hobbit’ Stills Released, Average Height Pretty Low

Fans of The Hobbit got a pretty nice surprise earlier today, when 13 new stills from the film were released. The pics features most of the characters from the film, with Bilbo (Martin Freeman) and Gandalf (Ian McKellen) stepping to the side to allow their entourage of dwarves to share the spotlight.

Pretending for a minute you don’t know already, ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey‘ is the first in a trilogy of films adapting J.R.R Tolkien’s novel of the same name. Taking place before the events of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, also directed by Peter Jackson, the film follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins and his lovely, lovely ring.
