Standalone Hulk Movie After Avengers 2?
The Colossal success of The Avengers saw a fading Hulk character brought forth into the spotlight of superheros. Suddenly, the Hulk was one of the most talked about characters with his brutal tactics and blunt yet funny one-liners. The result of such attention has mounted to an escalated rumor that the Hulk may very well be rewarded with his own standalone movie. (Though this probably would not come until after The Avengers 2 has been released)
Producer Kevin Feige sat down with MTV to talk about the future of the Hulk character, and seems confident that the big green monster will be given another chance at a standalone outing.
“Do I think Hulk can carry a movie and be as entertaining as he was in Avengers?” questioned Feige. “I do believe that. I do believe he absolutely could. We certainly are not even going to attempt that until Avengers 2, so there’s a lot of time to think about it.”
“I don’t think there’s a lot that we couldn’t do someday,” continues Feige, “as the cinematic universe continues to grow and expand and get as big as the comic book universe. Planet Hulk is a cool story. World War Hulk is a cool story.”
“I think there’s pitfalls of continuity-overload, and mythology getting so dense that it almost collapses in on itself [with those cosmic projects]. It happens every few decades or so in the comics. Apart from that, I’d say everything is on the table.”
Though all of this sounds exciting, and we are obviously a long way down from such a film, we wonder whether a character like Hulk could hold a movie on his own. He seems to be more of a character that brightly shines in support, but would struggle to hold a lead. Nevertheless, we still wouldn’t mind an attempt. In any case, let’s just take it one step at a time with The Avengers 2 as the next installment to look forward to, (expected open May 2015).

"the incredible hulk" was a pretty good movie to me. i didn't think they could make a good hulk movie, especially after that "hulk" snoozefest
yeah loved the fight at the end with abomination
Hulk is a hard movie to make. If the want to be creative, they could make a "Planet Hulk" or "World War Hulk" movie, other than tht, they cant really find the right actor
The prior Hulk movies wasn't that great but loved him in the Avengers, the film makers who did Avengers should do that spinoff.
ang's hulks was bleh…..i enjoyed incredible hulk, with it's little hints at other marvel heroes….and yep that last scene was good….maybe i just liked it case they were in harlem…….nahhhhhh twas a good movie to me lol
Nice
I dont like they make different hulk. they should had hulk look the same as cartoon of incredible hulk. 2nd movie of the hulk. fights at the end with ugly monster. fights should last longer and better fights sense. avenger movie was pretty good. but hulk should of been strong enough to picked up thor hammer as hulk on cartoons.
The Hulk movie, was mediocre…Hulk smashing giant poodles don't even sound good on paper so Idk how it succeeded to film??? And The Incredible Hulk was good but the physical appearance of him just didn't fit. Hulk is a meaty muscular beast not so ripped, ok? The Avenger's Hulk was spot on! Though, I had doubts of Mark Ruffalo playing Banner, especially after Ed Norton pretty much pinned it, he came through and I actually hope they reprise his role. Although Charlie Sheen might be more suited for the job due to his recent anger issues (lol) j/k.
If it's post-Avengers 2, then I would love to see Planet Hulk. This would mean that near the end of A2, he would have to go absolutely ballistic, destroying just about everything in his path. The Avengers would have to obviously sedate him and shoot him into space. Of course, the end of that could lead to him returning to Earth and give a World War Hulk movie, but that may be the inner fan boy in me screaming with excitement. One can wish.
BTW- Ruffalo is Hulk from here on out or no deal. Norton was good, Bana, due to a piss-poor script was bleh, but Ruffalo nailed it.
I'll go see it
this beter b good!!!!!
Ruffalo signed on for three Avengers and three Hulk movies.
i've said it once, and i'll say it again: BRING BACK THE ABOMINATION!
Would love to see Hulk face off against The Leader and and his army of synthetic humanoids.
