RIFF ’12 Starts Today
The Reykjavik International Film Festival, primarily known as RIFF, kicks off today, for its ninth incarnation. The festival this year includes a slew of international cinema, with a special highlight on German films, and welcomes special guests such as Susanne Bier, Marjane Satrapi and Dario Argento.
The festival not only plays host to a wide variety of feature-length and short films, but also includes a slew of special events. This year those include a special screening of Back to the Future at a swimming pool, a screening of Fritz Lang‘s (flawed) masterpiece Metropolis with live music and a costumed screening of Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan’s Hope. Along with those there will also be numerous workshops and Q&As with film-makers, as well as other, more party-inclined, events.

Of course, Filmophilia will be on the scene, providing you with reviews, news, features and interviews. Stay tuned.
