Marvel Animation Studios have just released three new images from their upcoming animated film, ‘Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United‘. The film, which will be feature-length and direct-to-DVD, will focus on the two heroes’ fight against the living energy villain Zzzax.
We know what you’re thinking. Unfortunately, the film isn’t a non-canon sequel to this summer’s massive blockbuster, ‘The Avengers‘, but Marvel have no problem with you looking at it that way. “We welcome people to interpret any way they like,” says Jeph Loeb, head of Marvel’s TV division. “In tone and character, we want to follow our best leader.”
Adrian Pasdar, best known from his role on ‘Heroes’, will be lending his voice to Tony Stark, while Fred Tatasciore will play the Hulk. Tatasciore has voiced the green behemoth in countless animated ventures and has become synonymous with Ol’ Jolly Green. ‘Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United’ is the first in what Marvel hopes is a series of feature-length, straight-to-DVD & Blu-Ray films. Should the film be a success, fans can expect plenty more team-up films from the comic book giant.
‘Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United’ is a hybrid of hand-drawn and computer-generated animation, and will debut on home video April 23rd, 2013.
