Could These Characters Be Joining ‘The Avengers 2′?
If there’s anything we love more than rumors, it’s The Avengers rumors.
First off, the web went wild (sort of) with the rumor that a new member would be joining the team of superheroes in 2015′s The Avengers 2. Ms. Marvel, a character first introduced in 1968 and recently renamed Captain Marvel, is said to be suiting up for the sequel. Actresses Emily Blunt and Ruth Wilson are apparently head-to-head in a race for the role, which would no doubt become the most sought after female role in Hollywood. Wilson is best known for her role in the British TV series Luther, where she stars opposite Idris Elba. Meanwhile, Blunt has been making quite the name for herself in Hollywood, most recently appearing in the fantastic sci-fi flick Looper.
Funnily enough, Emily Blunt was a frontrunner for the role of Black Widow, back when Iron Man 2 was in its casting phase. Scarlett Johansson nabbed the role when 20th Century Fox exercised a contract clause which forced Blunt to do Gulliver’s Travels instead. We’re sure she was thrilled with that.
Meanwhile, producer of the X-Men films, Lauren Shuler Donner has expressed interest in X-characters showing up in The Avengers 2 as well. When asked, she said: ”I would love it. I personally have close ties to Marvel because of Kevin Feige. Kevin worked for me. But to take our characters and mingle them in the way that they were written… yeah, absolutely.”
The rights to the X-Men characters rest squarely with 20th Century Fox, but it seems everybody wants to get in on the action. If you recall, Sony also expressed interest in having their character, Spider-Man, cross over with Whedon’s superhero fiesta.
So the question is….which X-Man would you want to see in The Avengers 2?

If you have Ms. Marvel showing up, having Logan would make sense. He was a huge part of her past.
