The impossibly named and dashing actor, Armie Hammer is rumored to be up for the role of Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie. That wouldn’t be the first time he’s linked with the role as back in 2007 he was actually cast as the Bat in the Justice League movie before that incarnation of it fell apart. Hammer of course went on to become a rather accomplished actor, appearing to good reception in the likes of The Social Network and J. Edgar.
Opinions are divided on whether his role as Batman would be confined to the Justice League or if he’d also head up the Batman franchise proper. Hammer is younger than Bale and Keaton were when they took on the cowl so Warner Bros might be looking to capitalize and get a whole slew of Batfilms out of him. That would also line-up with earlier rumors that the Justice League movie would provide a sort of launch pad for the next incarnation of the Caped Crusader.
The Will Beall scripted film is as of yet without a cast and director, despite Warner Bros. efforts. Currently it has a rather hopeful 2015 release date. We’ll see if this ever happens, no matter how much the WB seems to want it to.
Lets say that it does go forward: Does Hammer have the chops (and the chin) to pull off the cowl?
