To erase all memories of X-Men Origins: Wolverine (and to keep the franchise to themselves for a few more years), Fox were quick to start production on a new and improved Wolverine film, simply named The Wolverine and directed by James Mangold. It’s set in Japan, where Hugh Jackman‘s adamantium claws will face off with fresh villains and samurai swords, and there’s been a lot of anticipation to see the first photos of not only Logan himself, but one other main character as well; the seductive but dangerous Viper (or Madame Hydra).

Well, good news. The first on-set photos of actress Svetlana Khodchenkova in costume (and a bathrobe, but we’re guessing that’s not part of the character) were revealed via CBM (check out their much more enlightened analysis), and it’s clear from them alone that we’re going to see a very different Wolverine indeed this time around.

Are you looking forward to this new attempt at a good Wolverine film? Tell us in the comments.
