We’re in a real giving mood this week, what with our Big Halloween Movie Poll already underway, where we’re gathering our readers’ opinion on the best films to watch on Halloween and giving out prizes to three lucky contestants.
Now we’re adding to the mayhem, by giving away three cool copies of the sci-fi madness Iron Sky to three other lucky readers. For those very few and unfortunate who don’t know what Iron Sky is, then let us explain with a short synopsis: “In the last moments of World War II, a secret Nazi space program evaded destruction by fleeing to the Dark Side of the Moon. During the following 70 years of utter secrecy, the Nazis constructed a gigantic space fortress with a massive armada of flying saucers. Their plan: travel back to Earth and re-colonize the planet. And in 2018, mankind’s greatest enemy is no longer history as the Reich strikes back.”
Iron Sky provoked some discussion not only on its outrageous premise, but also on several satirical scenes contained within it, such as in the character of the U.S. President, which is an obvious Sarah Palin caricature.
We want to keep it really simple for this giveaway:
Just share with us, in the comments, your favorite movie which takes place in an alternate universe.
What do we mean by “alternate universe”, you ask? Simple, it’s a film which obviously takes place in a universe not our own, where history, technology, society or the fabric of reality itself is vastly different from the one we live and breathe every day. Films like this scale the entire genre range from The Matrix and TRON: Legacy to Inglourious Basterds or Sex and the City 2. So pop in a quick comment and you could win a film about Nazis from the Moon!
