Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright are at it again. The Three Flavors Cornetto Trilogy maybe the loosest usage of the word trilogy. As the name entails the connective tissue that binds the films together is the simple act of a main character eating a Cornetto (that’s a type of ice cream cone if you didn’t know).
After the brilliant Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, the final chapter of the trilogy draws near, the aptly titled The World’s End. Wright and crew seem quite content with teasing us slowly, following up an earlier, clever one with this rather beautiful piece:
The film follows a group of friends that attempt to recreate their youthful 20-bar pub crawl, ending with The World’s End. By that time things have taken quite the catastrophic turn, making the pub’s name rather appropriate. If history is any indicator we’re in for yet another fantastic snappy romp from Edgar Wright.
The World’s End comes out August 14th, 2013 in the UK and October 25th, 2013 in the US. Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan star along with the aforementioned Pegg and Frost.
