Willem Dafoe and Udo Kier Re-Teaming With Lars Von Trier for Nymphomaniac
Whatever your opinion of Lars Von Trier may be it’s undeniable that at least keeping up with what he’s doing is never less than interesting. With his next project, the affectionately named Nymphomaniac, under way one wouldn’t expect much news until it comes time to pimp the flick on the festival circuit.
That’s not the case as now, two months into shooting, the Dane has added two cogs to his machine. Willem Dafoe, joining Trier for a third time, and Udo Kier, another Trier veteran, have joined the cast. You may remember that Dafoe was said to be involved but was not included in the production announcing press release. Kier was never mentioned before but given that he’s appeared in almost all of Trier’s films his involvement doesn’t come as a surprise.
They join an already impressive cast consisting of Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgård, Shia LeBeouf and Jamie Bell. Uma Thurman also recently joined the production, probably taking over the role that Nicole Kidman was reportedly going to play.
The two part sexual odyssey will be released in two differently rated versions, with both parts slated for a 2013 release.
